Our Plan for Safety and Welcome

The US Bishops have removed the obligation for Mass attendence for Sundays and Holy Days during the Covid-19 Pandemic, including Christmas. If you are sick, please stay home. If you are of the age or health condition considered vulnerable to the virus, you should seriously consider staying home and praying with us virtually. We do understand that with COVID cases rising nationwide, some will choose to worship in-person and many will not feel comfortable worshipping in person. If you are not worshiping with us in-person, we warmly invite you to join our community celebrations via livestream, in the comfort of your own home, at whatever time you wish. Each Christmas Eve and Christmas Day liturgy in both locations will be livestreamed. 

In order to prioritize both safety and hospitality in our Christmas celebrations, we have a three-pronged plan in place. This plan includes:

1.  Sign-ups for all in-person Christmas Eve and Christmas Day liturgies, which can be done by securing a space online at (click the link above) or by calling 412-481-8380 or 412-381-0212 ext 104
2. “Overflow” spaces at our most popular liturgy times
3. Livestreaming options for all liturgies

What to expect for in-person celebration of Christmas Mass 

• You should have signed up ahead of time. Overflow spaces are available at the St. Adalberts location. 
• 6 ft. Physical distancing must be observed and pews have been blocked off to ensure this. Families living together in the same household are able to sit together in open pews. All others must retain 6 foot physical distancing
• Masks must be worn properly over the mouth and nose during the entire ceremony
• Use hand sanitizer as you enter the church
• Arrive no more than 30 minutes early. If you arrive earlier than that, we may still be cleaning and sanitizing from the previous mass and you will not be let in until it is finished.
• When you arrive at the church a hospitality minister will check you and your family in and help you find a seat
• Congregational singing is not encouraged and will be limited during the ceremony. Music books and all other items have been removed from the pews
• It is everyone's responsibility to care for and keep one another safe. These guidelines will help us do that, as well as celebrated Christ incarnate among us!  

December 24: Christmas Eve Masses:

• 2:30pm at Saint Adalbert Church (overflow space available in church basement and admin offices and livestreamed
• 4:00pm at Saint Mary of the Mount Church (and livestreamed)
• 4:30pm at Saint Adalbert Church (overflow space available in church basement and admin offices and livestreamed)
• 12 Midnight at Saint Mary of the Mount Church (and livestreamed)

December 25: Christmas Day Masses: 

• 9:00am Saint Adalbert Church (and livestreamed)
• 10:00am Saint Mary of the Mount Church (ASL Interpreted and livestreamed)
